Our heartiest congratulations to the ten students from the School of Social Sciences, Pre-University Studies (A Level) for participating and winning this year’s Kangaroo Math Competition, that was held on the 6th of August 2020. We are truly proud of their outstanding efforts and achievements during the Kangaroo Math Competition. With the guidance from the experienced team of A Level Mathematics lecturers working hand in hand with the students, they managed to win out of the 6 million participants worldwide.
The Kangaroo Math Competition is an annual international math competition and is the largest math competition in the world with more than 6 million participants annually across 82 countries. This contest originated in France and is administered globally by Association Kangourou sans Frontieres (AKSF).
The contests are organized locally by the respective national organizers, and Kangaroo Math Malaysia has been organizing this popular event ever since 2013. The competition aims to align with the internationalization efforts of Malaysia’s education system, outlined in “Pelan Pembangunan Pendidikan Malaysia 2013-2025”, with the mission to expose students to higher-level math problems (designed by world-renowned math educators).
