Double Eleven Limited, a video game development studio founded by former Rockstar Games developers, Lee Hutchinson and Matt Shepcar visited UOW Malaysia KDU Glenmarie Campus on the 18th of May 2022. Double Eleven is responsible for popular game titles like LittleBigPlanet for PlayStation Vita, Pixel Junk, Rust, Lego Harry Potter: Years 1-4 and Minecraft Dungeons. They recently opened their Kuala Lumpur studio which was their first studio outside of the United Kingdom. For a few members of the UK team, it was their first time to Malaysia.
They were given a short tour of the UOW Malaysia KDU’s state-of-the-art game development teaching facilities and later the UK team gave a two-hour technical sharing session for UOW Malaysia KDU’s Game Development students and later had a portfolio review session for recently graduated students keen on starting their career at Double Eleven Limited.
The Double Eleven team from UK consisted of Mark South, Chief Operations Officer; Stephen McFarlane, Art Manager; Laura Brodie, Head of People and Culture; Iain Farrell, Program Manager; Paul Carruthers, Code Manager; and Chetan Karnam, QA & Engineering Manager.
