The University of Wollongong, a global top 1% university, entered Malaysia through the acquisition of the KDU college and university colleges. The establishment of UOW Malaysia KDU was marked with an inauguration officiated on 18th November 2019 by Australia’s Minister for Education, the Honourable Dan Tehan MP, and Malaysia’s Director General of Higher Education, YBhg Datuk Ir. Dr Siti Hamisah. At the inauguration UOW announced a commitment to be a preeminent provider of higher education in Malaysia. This commitment combines UOW’s internationally recognized teaching programs with a personalized approach to producing industry-ready graduates.
