Associate Professor Ts. Dr Tan Chin Ike Email: citan@kdu.edu.my Tan Chin Ike has a proven academic program development record and a demonstrated history of over 20 years’ experience, spanning the post-production, interactive media, and the game development sectors. Part of his academic development credentials include establishing an Animation, Creative Multimedia and Game Development Programs at a local university prior to the successful Bachelor of Game Development program at UOW Malaysia KDU. In 2012, he established the MYGAMEDEV(EPP14) Game Development Talent initiative, an Entry Point Project under the Malaysian Government’s Economic Transformation Program (ETP) for Education. In 2019, he also established the Game Development Council of Malaysia under the Department of Higher Education (JPT) and became its founding chairman. He is a Registered Professional Technologist under the Malaysia Board of Technologist (MBOT) and an appointed Professional Evaluation Panel Member for them. He is also an appointed Accreditation Panel (APP) member for the Malaysian Qualifications Agency (MQA). He has also been involved in various funding evaluation committee panels for government agencies like National Film Development Corporation Malaysia (FINAS) and Malaysia Digital Economy Corporation (MDEC) for funding initiatives including PENJANA & PRISMA DCG Grant and the Research and Development Grant under the Ministry of Science, Technology, and Innovation (MOSTI) Malaysia. He holds a Master of Science (MSc) in Computing from the University of Teesside, UK; and a PhD in Game-Based Learning from Sultan Idris Education University (UPSI).
