Transforming space, creating lifestyle

This is an interior design course in Malaysia where students discover the beauty and practicality of built environment design. By learning the design process of interior design and architecture, we allow our students to dwell deeper into the creative aspect of built environment design. This interior design course provides our students with hands-on experience with design, through the understanding of material, design process, techniques and the application of digital software. We ensure our students are provided with a holistic design education in order for them to further pursue their design aspiration. Upon graduation, our students have the option of beginning their design career, or proceed to a degree program in Interior Architecture.

The course is created to offer broad based knowledge of Interior Design which will equip the graduates to research and develop skills like thinking, conceptualising spaces, etc. Students will be exposed to multiple skills like material selection, drawing, technical drafting, Computer Aided Design (CAD), Building Information Modeling (BIM), project management, communication skills, etc.

What is interior design?

Interior design refers to the artistic planning of a property’s interior space. This includes the organization and decoration of the interior space.

Interior designers are engaged to plan spaces such as restaurants and cafes, hotels, homes, malls and even hospitals. Both creativity and technical skills are required in order to have an end result that is aesthetically pleasing.

Good interior design also ensures functionality, comfort, and safety. As such, those who aspire to be interior designers should take up an interior design course to develop and sharpen the skills that are needed for this job.

What will you learn in an interior design course?

You will learn how to plan and design interior layouts, understand the materials needed, 3D rendering, color theories as well as use interior design software.

Some common subjects that you will take during an interior design course include:

  • Design theories and principles
  • Building materials and construction
  • Architecture history
  • Architecture drawing
  • Computer-aided design (CAD)
  • Project Management

Many interior courses also offer practical training and internship opportunities for students to put into practice what they have learnt. This is important as experience plays a key role in this profession.
