Foundation in Accountancy (FIA) is a stepping stone onto the ACCA Qualification. It is a rigorous and flexible qualification that kick starts students’ higher education journey at the most relevant level through a range of Foundation level awards made up of certificates and diplomas which provide the ideal starting point for anyone new to accounting and finance.

Upon achieving the ACCA Diploma in Accounting and Business (RQF Level 4), students can start studying the ACCA Qualification and claim exemption from the Applied Knowledge exams. They can then continue their journey to becoming a fully qualified professional accountant.

The PAC Club at UOW Malaysia KDU, especially for Professional Accounting students, is the best place for students to enhance their communication, organisational and leadership skills. * Exam Fee and Membership Fees (£105 annually) are fees payable to ACCA UK directly. They are non-refundable and are subject to change without prior notice.

Academic Qualification

SPM / O-Level :
Min. 5 credits (5Cs) inclusive of English and Mathematics


Min. 3 Credits (3Bs) inclusive of English and Mathematics


English Requirement

Local Student :
Credit (SPM / 1119 / UEC / GCE O-Level examination); Band 4 in MUET


International Student :
Band 6.0 in IELTS; or a min score of 60 (IBT) or 488 (PBT) in TOEFL; or score 59 and above for Pearson English Test



Malaysian students who do not possess the English requirement stated above, will have to attempt and pass a compulsory English module concurrently in the first semester of FIA program.
