The A Level, also known as the GCE Advanced Level, is a pre-university program that is based on the British education syllabus. It is administered by the Cambridge Assessment International Education (CAIE) and aims to prepare students for a university degree. In Malaysia, the A Level course takes 15 to 24 months. This program is 100% exam based and you will be required to take a minimum of 3 to 4 subjects. You will gain in-depth knowledge on the subjects that you choose and once you pass your A Level, you can head off to university with confidence. Why Study A Level? The Cambridge International Examinations is the world’s largest provider of international education programs and qualifications, especially for the CIE GCE A Level program. Around the globe, it enjoys a reputation for academic excellence. It is part of the Cambridge Assessment, a department of the University of Cambridge. While there are many programs available in Malaysia that aim to help you prepare for university, the A Level has always been one of the most popular. Here’s why: It is globally recognized by universities – The A Level is known for its high standards and is recognized by universities in the UK, Australia, Singapore and the United States. A Level resources are readily available – There are plenty of study materials available on the internet such as past year papers and revision questions that will help you to prepare for exams. It lets you keep your options open – Upon the completion of the A Level, you can choose to continue your studies in a wide range of fields. Comparatively, certain pre-university programs will only enable you to continue in the field that you have chosen. Thus, the A Level is a good option if you’re not very sure what degree you want to pursue in university. It gives you in-depth knowledge – As you only take 3 to 4 subjects, you will cover your chosen subjects extensively. Fast Track into a Law Degree – The CIE GCE A Level is the fastest and most sensible route for students intending to pursue a law degree. Students will study two subjects (Business and Law) in a 1.5 years duration, as compared to one and a half to two years in the regular A Levels program.
