Program information

Most students who have graduated followed the Computer Science degree program go into careers in software industry, extending from small and medium companies to multinationals. A number of our graduates have continued their studies at the universities, government services and teaching professions. More than 95% employment rate within the first 6 months upon graduation. On-campus career talks and walk-in interviews are regularly conducted for graduates.


Our computing curriculum, has covered wide range of specialization field areas knowledge of the theory and practice to apply problem-solving techniques using different programming languages. Apart from that it has included soft skills, together with the program structure to allow students to train them communication skills in different cultural background.  Students are required to do Industrial training and computing projects during the course of study to future familiarize with industry related problems. The degree course is based on three bonded structures namely, academic consciousness, produce professional computing relevance and a sturdy commitment to employability.


Our academic staff has specialized in their field area, industry experience, and research activities. They are active researchers to bring innovative talents to share with students and in classroom. Our guest lecturers from industry also provide the current trends and technology enhancement among the students. Our facilitators are involved with Peer-Assisted Learning, in which the final year students provide optional support sessions during the semesters.


New opportunities are for the diploma students to improve the dynamic learning with Oracle universities student guide e-Kit on LVC (Live Virtual Classes), Microsoft Technical Assistant (MTA) examinations. Recently the department has initiated EC-Council’s, Certified Ethical Hacker (CEH-V9) examinations for the diploma level students. In short, if a student joined the diploma in computer studies or diploma in Games technology they will be graduation their programs with professional certifications that really stands out from other IT graduates from competitors.


Department of Computing has a wide range of software packages to support the computer science, computer games, animation, networking and business intelligence curriculum, including tools for software/apps development, mobile development, network simulations and more. There is free access to commercial software and servers to staff and students are available. Academic Qualification

2 Principal Passes (min. 2Cs) in any two subjects and Credit at SPM level or equivalent in Additional Mathematics / Mathematics and any one subject in Science, Technology or Engineering


2 Principal Passes (min. 2Cs) in Science Stream with in one Mathematics subject and one subject in Science / ICT


GCE A Level :
2 Principal Passes (DD) in any two subjects and Credit at SPM level or equivalent in Additional Mathematics / Mathematics and any one subject in Science, Technology or Engineering


5 Credits (5Bs) including Mathematics and Science/ICT subject


Foundation/Matriculation :
Pass with min. CGPA of 2.00 and Credit at SPM level or equivalent in Additional Mathematics / Mathematics and any one subject in Science, Technology or Engineering


Australian Matriculation/Foundation:
ATAR score of 55


Diploma :
i) Diploma in Computer Science / Software Engineering / Information Technology / Information System or equivalent with min. CGPA 2.50; or

ii) Any Diploma in science and technology with min. CGPA 2.50

Note: Candidate for category (i) and (ii) with CGPA under 2.50 but more than 2.00 may be admitted subject to rigorous internal assessment process by institution


Candidates entering the degree programme via Matriculation/Foundation/STPM with credit in Mathematics and any one subject in Science, Technology or Engineering at SPM level or equivalent are required to take Mathematics enhancement course with topics related to Computer Science and Software Engineering fields.

Candidates must pass the Mathematics enhancement course as prerequisite before are allowed to take related core subject. However, this requirement does not limit candidate from taking any other core or non-core subjects that do not have the Mathematics enhancement course as the prerequisite.

The credit for the Mathematics enhancement course is an extra credit to core subjects and can be considered as part of the graduating credit.

The requirement for the Mathematics enhancement course can be exempted if the Matriculation or Foundation programme or equivalent contains Mathematics subject that is at the same level/higher than the credit in Additional Mathematics at SPM level.

English Requirement

Local Student:
Pass English at SPM level; or MUET Band 2; or Band 5 in IELTS; or a min score of 57 (IBT) or 180 (CBT) in TOEFL


International Student:
MUET Band 3; or Band 5 in IELTS; or a min score of 34 (IBT) or 410 (PBT) in TOEFL
