On 18 July, the School of Social Sciences, Professional Accountancy Centre, and National Marketing Department have co-organized the UOW Malaysia KDU Quiz Masters 2020 (Online Quiz) to raise the interest in learning mathematics and general knowledge among secondary school students. UOW Malaysia KDU has provided many attractive prizes to winners, schools, and every participant. Participants also had the chance to apply for bursaries and scholarships with the institution after completing their SPM.
Despite the COVID-19 pandemic, UOW Malaysia KDU managed to draw in more than 200 “Quiz Masters” from eleven secondary schools to participate in this online competition. It was tight competition among the participants representing their own different schools, and there was a great excitement building up in the digital space.
On the 22 July, the organizer representatives, Dr. Jenny Wong Sook Khuan (Head of School, School of Social Sciences), Mr. Chan Tze Kang (Academic Department Head, Professional Accountancy Centre), and Ms. Jess Lee Chai Ling (Manager, National Marketing Department) announced the winners on the UOW Malaysia KDU Instagram Live.
UOW Malaysia KDU representatives also visited the participating schools while abiding by the Recovery Movement Control Order (RMCO) guidelines. Feedback from the school teachers, counsellors and parents have been very positive, and they encouraged UOW Malaysia KDU to continue to provide these kinds of learning activities amidst RMCO in Malaysia.
