By Student and Alumni Centre (SAC)

Student and Alumni Centre (SAC) of UOW Malaysia KDU organised a Tazkirah session in conjunction with fasting month in Ramadhan of Islam calendar.  This session was moderate by Mr Zaki from School of Communication and Creative Arts meanwhile the speaker, Dr Kabuye Uthman Sulaiman from International Islamic University Malaysia.

This tazkirah session is a virtual session held on 13th May 2020, to remind the five pillars of Islam and the verse in the Quran that prescribed fasting for all Muslims. Dr Uthman emphasized on the purpose of fasting is to develop the quality of righteousness (taqwa), inwardly and outwardly, by abstaining from sinful deeds and training ourselves to control our thoughts and desires. He also mentioned that fasting is a deeply spiritual practice that is meant to benefit us in body, mind and heart.

There was good feedback from students who attended this tazkirah session where the students ask to advise on what we can do to fulfil ourselves during Ramadhan month. Dr Uthman mentioned that we were advised to do the sadaqah and the best of sadaqah is given during the month of Ramadan.

This tazkirah session was helped the students to know more on Ramadhan month as well as to enhance their Islamic knowledge.
