The Sintok International Games & Gamification Challenge (SIGGC) is organised and hosted by the Innovation and Commercialization Centre, Universiti Utara Malaysia (UUM). The competition is devoted to showcase and recognize a wide variety of innovative video games and gamification technology. SIGGC, an annual event running since 2017, is open to individuals and teams based either locally or internationally.

This year, several teams from the UOW Malaysia KDU Bachelor of Game Development (Hons) program managed to clinch multiple Gold and Silver medals at the event. The Award-winning games all cover a breadth of subject matter, from horror games to dance floor brawls. Below is the full list of the winning games produced by these talented group of game development students from arguably one of Malaysia’s premier Game Development Universities.

 

GOLD MEDAL:

Surveye (Android)
The Lost Child (PC)
Bad Omen (Android)

SILVER MEDAL:

Don’t Stop the Party (PC)
Blood Moon Genesis (PC)
Chonky (Android)

UOW Malaysia KDU is also the first university outside North America and Europe to be an Unreal Academic Partner. The Unreal Engine is a game engine developed by Epic Games and is considered as one of the world’s leading game engine. EPIC Games is one of North America’s major game studios responsible for award-winning titles such as Unreal Tournament, Gears of War and the hugely popular Fortnite.
