Networking Session With University Of Lincoln’S Students


George Town, 16 July 2019 – A total of 16 students from the United Kingdom spent two weeks getting around in Penang with their maps, passports and sunglasses, and what made them fall in love with the place was cendol.

“Penang’s street foods is amazing. Street food like cendol is new for us as we are usually have only fast food in the UK,” said Lorna Cochrane who is pursuing a degree in Business Management in the University of Lincoln, UK. (UoL)

“But the wall art in George Town has its own uniqueness and we just kept on taking pictures around the George Town heritage area,” she added during the networking session with 15 UOW Malaysia KDU Penang University College students, who are heading to UoL for a summer school programme”.

The Lincoln students spent two weeks in UOW Malaysia KDU Penang, enjoying fun-filled activities such as team building at Batu Feringghi, baking class, wine tasting lessons and much more.

“We made a cendol mousse in the baking class at UOW Malaysia KDU Penang. The taste and fragrance of cendol mousse is very different for us and we enjoyed it,” said Lorna.

The UoL and UOW Malaysia KDU Penang students shared a valuable exchange session. UOW Malaysia KDU Penang students became travel advisors for UoL students. They show them how to hail Grab cars to go shopping and visit Penang’s famous attractions.

UoL students shared tips and advice to the UOW Malaysia KDU Penang students who are traveling to UK to spend a month in summer school at UoL.

“UoL provides shared bicycles on the campus which students can use anytime to go from one place to another place,” said Joshua Miller, who is pursuing Business Management in UoL. He said that the township around UoL is very convenient for students, with McDonald’s and free Wi-Fi available everywhere for students to have a sweet time.

“This is my first time to traveling to UK and I’m very excited about experiencing the new environment, cultures and meet new people there. This networking session with UK students has given me some idea about what to expect,” said Ang Qiao En, who is pursuing Bachelor of Business Management in UOW Malaysia KDU Penang.

UOW Malaysia KDU Penang provides a dual-award degree in Bachelor of Business Management and Bachelor of Computer Science. Students have the opportunity to travel to University of Lincoln for a summer school programme for one month to experience student life on the campus.
