Communication student Sim Wan Wei recently took part in the Adobe Certified Associate (ACA) Champion 2020 and was announced to be listed amongst the Top 30 of the thousands of participants nationally who participated in this challenging event. The competition had participants drawn from over 100 of universities and colleges nationwide.

The 2020 ACA Championship competition was different from the previous years as it was the year the world was hit with the global pandemic. In responding to the Covid-19 pandemic, participants were given the challenge to seek out new ideas and utilize their innovative problem-solving skills to design a full-fledged poster for the Breast Cancer Foundation in Malaysia. Not only that, participants were expected to overcome the grueling Adobe Live Test that was organized by Centripot. Even though this year’s competition was deemed more challenging than in previous years, Wan Wei managed to score 946/1000 on the test. In addition, Wan Wei emerged as a certified Adobe Associate.

The Adobe Certified Associate (ACA) certification is a global, industry-recognized, credential. The certificate validates one’s skills in Adobe digital-media software and demonstrated that the individual possesses the ability to plan, design, and develop effective visual communications using a range of digital media.

The ACA Championship Malaysia 2020 was organized by Acestar Sdn Bhd. The competition provided students majoring in Art & Design, a broad platform to showcase their work and talent, thus opening up potentially many industry opportunities for them, such as securing collaborations or employment.
