UOW Malaysia KDU Culturation X Korea Winter Mobility Programme ‘Winter Semester Break In Korea’

On 22nd December 2018, six (6) UOW Malaysia KDU students embarked a journey to Dankook University, Korea for two-weeks of UOW Malaysia KDU Culturation x Korea Winter Mobility Programme experience. These students were accompanied by one chaperone from Student & Alumni Centre. It took 6 hours flight to reach Incheon Airport.

On the next day, students had their gathering for Orientation & Campus Familiarization and at the same time, they had an opportunity to go around Dankook University campus. By the tour around the campus they get to learn what facilities are available for students to utilize. After the campus tour, they went to Myeongdong for sightseeing and shopping.
Later, the students went to N Seoul Tower. It only took half an hour journey to get there. N Seoul Tower is one of the touristic attractions for foreigners with the living nature of Namsan. They went to the area which u can view the city of Seoul. The end of the day ended with a Welcome Dinner hosted by Dankook University at the HanCook which is antiquated Korean Restaurant.

The following days were filled with Korean Language classes in the morning, and various activities during the latter part of the day. The activities were; Pottery class, K-Pop Dance class, cooking class & Taekwondo. Additionally, they also had a Christmas Party on Christmas’ Eve. Students loved it as they felt the togetherness of everyone despite being far from home. On Christmas Day, classes were off so they had the time to go sledding at Everland.

During the weekends break they spent their times by visiting popular places such as the Gyeongbok Palace & Central Museum, Dongdaemon Night Market, and a ride on KBS tour along Hongdae Street. At Gyeongbok Palace, they been given the chance to play dress-up in Hanbok. Throughout the KBS tour, they walked along the revolution of television and Korean drama, variety showcases, news casting and more.

The students also spent one day at Lotte World. They been given an opportunity to visit the Samsung innovation Museum for a short tour on. Meanwhile, they visited Nami Island to capture the beautiful scenery and taste some local vintage snacks. Nami Island is Korea’s most globally recognized tourist destination and cultural brand.

During the weekdays, the students had their Korean Language classes. By end of the programmed, Dankook University hosted a Farewell Party the night before for the student went back to KL.
