Workplace experience will complement your academic studies by providing another way of learning outside the classroom. It will also provide you with crucial knowledge, skills and personal attributes that employers look for.

Department of Built Environment UOW Malaysia KDU Penang University College students had an opportunity to experience and learn application methods on how design industries offer the best materials for their project at Feruni Showroom Penang.

Feruni is one of the best in delivering their tiles trends and designs. Besides that, Feruni brings together design trends with cutting-edge technological innovations to produce a wide range of collections that appeal to a diverse market segmentation.

The group of students learned how interior space encompasses cognition of many factors such as site conditions, functional and behavioural relationships, structural form, symbolic meaning, and sensory responses. These factors influence materiality, and have been influenced by materials, forming a central principle in design.

The students learned how productivity is a large part of the success of every project, and how to clean and prepare a substrate and the care of placing rolled goods into the area to be installed. Understanding the details in a print reading course leads to the layout and planning for each project. Correct layout procedures lead to products being installed accurately. Employability skills and the jobsite rules detail the reason to follow and work with complex time schedules. Productivity leads to jobsite success and builds a strong reputation with the design community for future projects.
