Dean’S List Award Ceremony 2019

George Town, 28 May 2019 – Making it into the Dean’s List at UOW Malaysia KDU Penang University College (UOW Malaysia KDU Penang) is a pleasurable moment for students.

“It is not easy getting that because UOW Malaysia KDU Penang’s students must first score a Grade Point Average of 3.8 and above in a certain semester,” said Associate Professor Dr. Brian Imrie, Deputy Vice-Chancellor of UOW Malaysia KDU Penang University College.

“As a leading institution in the northern region, UOW Malaysia KDU Penang University College has upgraded the student’s academic achievements and performances for them to shine and be differentiated from others,” he added in his speech at the Dean’s List Award Ceremony on May 17th, 2019.

He presented the Dean’s List Award to a total of 154 students who are pursuing their bachelor’s degree or diploma in UOW Malaysia KDU Penang.

“Stay focus in the class regardless of your tiredness. This is the secret to getting into the Dean’s List,” said Dicky Larson from Indonesia, who is currently pursuing a Bachelor of Computer Science degree at UOW Malaysia KDU Penang University College.

“Computing is all about getting the practical and theoretical points right. So, stay focus in every class and do more practical exercises to be experts in the subjects,” said the 19-year-old student.

Apart from him, Jesslyn Janis, who is pursuing a Diploma in 3D Animation and Motion Capture said this is her first time getting into Dean’s List.

“I’m grateful to receive the award because this semester was quite tough for me as I took a total of six subjects. But I successfully got into the Dean’s List because of the lecturers’ support and advice. I thank all the lecturers, who are always helping and supported me,” said Jesslyn Janis.

In the future, UOW Malaysia KDU Penang’s Dean’s List will be even more prestigious because the campus’ parent company, Paramount Corporation Berhad, has entered into a strategic partnership with the University of Wollongong, one of the leading public universities in Australia. This partnership will strengthen the industrial relevance, employability and outstanding performances of the students.
