Important Announcement – Campus Closure

Closure of all Campuses

(Updated 26th March, 2020)

By UOW Malaysia KDU

Dear Students and Staff,

The global COVID-19 outbreak is of growing concern and UOW Malaysia KDU has been working closely with regulatory authorities to ensure the safety of our campus community, while also ensuring our students have minimal disruption to their studies. At all times our highest priority is the well-being of our campus community.

Closure of all Campuses

Given the pronouncement of a Restricted Movement Control Order all UOW Malaysia KDU Campuses will be closed from 18th March until 14th April, 2020. All members of the campus community are encouraged to continue their study and work duties from home.

Should local or international students choose to remain in hostel accommodation, our student services staff are standing by to support you and can be contacted using the phone numbers at the bottom of this announcement.

March Intake to Commence 20th April, 2020

In light of this announcement, and the subsequent extension to the Restricted Movement Order, UOW Malaysia KDU has made the collective decision to begin the March intake with orientation on the 20th of April 2020 (Wednesday).

Online Delivery of Classes

Classes will be delivered online from Wednesday, 18th March 2020, with practical classes postponed until the opening of the campuses. Students can access Open Learning (Glenmarie and Damansara Jaya Campuses) or Canvas (Penang Campuses) learning management systems to obtain online content and support for your classes. Through careful preparations, we aim to ensure a quality, remotely-delivered learning experience for students, with support from our teaching staff.

Examinations and Assessments

Any announcements on assessment, including scheduled examinations, will be made by your lecturer via email or Open Learning/Canvas.

Virtual Open Days

During this period, all scheduled Open Days on our campus network have been replaced with Virtual Open Days. This will enable you to learn more about UOW Malaysia KDU from your home, while also having access to our team of counselors. For more information, please visit this link:

Personal Safety

Please continue to practice good personal hygiene, thoroughly washing your hands frequently, practicing social distancing, and applying the hand sanitizer.

Supporting Each Other

Please continue to look out for each other and support all members of our campus community during this time. As the COVID-19 pandemic is a rapidly evolving situation, please regularly check your university college/college email for any updates.
