Choosing a profession choice is frequently dubious. Hospitality is a worldwide industry and there are many great hotels, bars, resorts, bistros, restaurants, cruise ships, fast food stalls and coffeehouses making the hospitality business one the greatest employers on the earth. By acquiring experience in hospitality and culinary, you can work anywhere worldwide and exchange your aptitudes acquired in any industry particularly with a hotel work.

The annual UOW Malaysia KDU University College’s School of Hospitality, Tourism and Culinary Arts (SHTCA) Career & Internship fair was held on 16th October 2019 at MPH, UOW Malaysia KDU University College. The SHTCA Career and Internship Fair provides an opportunity for the students to meet with representatives from various hospitality employers in one central location.

“Career fairs present you with a rare opportunity to meet face-to-face with potential employers, land on-campus interviews, and network with alumni before they even see your resume. Here in SHTCA, we care about your employability. From your first day on campus to graduation and beyond, we are here to help you explore your career options, make a career plan, gain experience, build networks, and conduct effective job searches. Employers are joining the race of your ‘academic brain’ which makes it difficult to decide where the ‘best start of your career’ should be. I believe that your first employer often determine the path of your career, and can leave a lasting impact of your life. Therefore do not take this decision lightly. It is my sincere hope that the interaction at this career fair will yield positive results for both employers and students,” explained Mr Sharizal Kamaruddin, SHTCA Academic Department Head.

“This is a fantastic opportunity for employers to talk with undergraduate and graduate students seeking internships and full-time employment,” added Sharizal during the career and internship fair.

Companies like Marriott International, Accor Malaysia, and Grand Hyatt Kuala Lumpur, Banyan Tree Kuala Lumpur and other respecting companies and hotels were scouting for fairly talented candidates to fill in positions in their companies.

In recent times, various renowned hotel brands have been coming into the local scene. On the other hand, upcoming mega developments such as the Kuala Lumpur-Singapore high-speed rail, Mass Rapid Transit Line 3 (Circle Line), and various theme parks will also act as catalysts for economic growth and tourism development, resulting in improved demand for retail, hospitality, leisure and entertainment sub-sectors in the real estate industry.

Most importantly, the hospitality and culinary courses has an incredible future. If you have the enthusiasm for filling somebody’s heart with joy somewhat better and an inclination to develop, the hospitality industry without a doubt is what you have been searching for.
