Promising Future with UOW Malaysia KDU Penang University College

George Town, 26 February 2019 – “Be thankful for the opportunity to study and work harder to hit your best.”

These are the golden words from Lynnox Edviano Loo, who scored four A*s in the November 2018 Cambridge A-Level examination. This 18-year-old student from Centre of Pre-University Studies at UOW Malaysia KDU Penang University College (UOW Malaysia KDU Penang) scored A* in Biology, Chemistry, Physics, and Mathematics. Loo is one of the two students from UOW Malaysia KDU Penang who scored 4A*s. The other student, Teh Yu Xuan, scored A* in Chemistry, Physics, Mathematics, and Further Mathematics.

When asked how he achieved the feat, Loo answered with a brighter smile, saying that everything is possible with hard work, in addition to having courage and an appreciative heart to achieve the best and reach great heights. “I’m able to achieve my best level in the Cambridge A-Level examination because of the support and guidance I have received from the lecturers at UOW Malaysia KDU Penang,” said Loo. “They were my backbone and kept me going when the times were tough in my journey”. He plans to further his undergraduate studies in Hong Kong after graduating from UOW Malaysia KDU Penang.

Loo’s achievement was acknowledged in the UOW Malaysia KDU Penang’s A-Level High Achievers Ceremony on 18 February 2019. The ceremony was held to recognise the achievements of the A-Level students in the November 2018 A-Level examinations. In his speech, the Deputy Vice-Chancellor of UOW Malaysia KDU Penang, Associate Professor Dr. Brian Imrie, acknowledged the hard work and perseverance of the students, and congratulated the students who have successfully completed the A-Level programme. Dr. Brian also presented the certificates to the 52 students who achieved 3A’s and above in their AS and A-Level examinations.

“Paramount Corporation, the parent company of UOW Malaysia KDU Penang University College has entered into strategic partnership with University of Wollongong (UOW). This strong partnership between UOW Malaysia KDU Penang and UOW will produce more industry-ready graduates who are problem solvers and quick thinkers,” said Dr. Brian.

He added that this strategic partnership will provide an even greater impact after UOW Malaysia KDU Penang opens its flagship campus at Batu Kawan next year. For further enquires about Pre-University Studies in UOW Malaysia KDU Penang, please contact 04-2386368 or visit to www.kdupg.edu.my.
